“If” is a state of indeterminacy.
It is neither an answer nor a conclusion, but a possibility that remains open, still branching in multiple directions.
In an existential sense, “if” approaches the absurd condition described by Albert Camus: the human impulse to seek meaning in the world while continually confronting uncertainty and absence. On the level of perception, it also resonates with Edmund Husserl’s notion of epoché, or suspension, in which established interpretations are temporarily set aside and the world is allowed to appear anew in its most immediate relation to the senses.
