L Gallery has now completed its first twelve months since opening in July 2025. Sixteen posters, sixteen exhibitions, and RMB 98,382—this is the total cost of sustaining an art space for one year.
A red dot is the gallery's mark indicating that an artwork has been sold. Enlarged to thirty centimeters, this red dot is placed outside a space that has itself been sold and used. At this moment, the gallery ceases to be merely a space that contains artworks and becomes the artwork being sold.
This is both an exhibition and an auction. The one-year operating rights to L Gallery will be auctioned, with the opening bid set at RMB 98,382. The successful bidder will acquire the right to operate and use L Gallery for one full year, including the right to conduct commercial activities within the space.
